Optional: Adding Signatures

Many bureaucrats demand scans of signed documents. It is possible to add a signature in a PDF using Adobe Acrobat Reader as explained in wikiHow: How to Add a Signature in Adobe Reader.

However, to get your document properly signed, it is recommended to once scan a signature and save it.
Using Adobe Acrobat Reader or Foxit Reader, the signature can be copied in the PDF and the PDF can be saved again, and is ready for scanning.

To copy a signature into a PDF using Adobe Acrobat Reader under Windows, do the following:
  1. Save a scan of a signature as Image (*.jpg or similar)
  2. Open the image in Paint, press CTRL+C
  3. Open the PDF, press CTRL+V and place and scale the signature as desired
  4. Save the signed PDF
To copy a signature into a PDF using Foxit Reader, do the following:
  1. Save the signature as PDF
  2. Copy the signature PDF files into a Foxit stamp folder (Common path: "C:\Program Files\Foxit Software\Foxit Reader\stamps\Standard Stamps")
  3. Open a PDF with Foxit Reader and select in the menu Comment>Stamp the signature and stamp the document, possibly scaling the signature as desired
  4. Save the signed PDF
